William Franklin "Bo" Gerard Obituary
William F. (Bo) Gerard went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2015.
Bo was born April 28, 1927 in Holdenville, Okla. and the family moved to Sweetwater when he was two years old. He attended Sweetwater schools and married his childhood sweetheart Jessie Hayes on Aug. 27, 1948. He excelled in many trades before living in Odessa where he co-owned Permian Floor Covering. After that the family moved to Corpus Christi where he worked for Acco Perforators. Later he owned and operated a hotshot truck before retiring in 1988. When Jessie retired in 1992 they moved back to Sweetwater to live on the lake until moving to Midland in 2008 to be near their children. Bo was a member of Westside Church of Christ and Sweetwater Masonic Lodge # 571.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jessie; son, William, Jr. (Sonny); daughter, Cynde Poole and husband Sonny; Nancy Teinert and friend Rebecca Cloud; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Holder and husband Boyce; sister-in-law, Jean Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry in 1976; a daughter, Windy Preston in 2006; three sisters; and a brother.
Visitation will be held on Feb. 7 from 1-2 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater with services to follow at 2 p.m. officiated by Mike Vestal. Burial will be at Garden of Memories under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
