Carmel Ruffo Obituary
Carmel Ruffo June 8, 2019 Carmel Ruffo, 92, of Liverpool, passed away in her home in the company of her loving family on the morning of June 8. Born August 10, 1926 and raised in Columbus, OH, she was one of seven children. In 1948, she married her husband of 71 years, Carl Ruffo, and shortly thereafter relocated to Syracuse, NY. She worked for a brief time at the Addis Co. and Flah's; however, her true devotion in life was to her family – raising her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kind-hearted, funny, determined and always giving – her smile could bring joy to any room. She had a great passion for life and was one of a kind, a gift to us all. There are no words to describe how much she will be missed. Carmel is survived by her husband, Carl Ruffo; her sister, Ann Fox of Columbus, OH; her sons, John (Deborah) Ruffo of Bridgeport, NY and Michael Ruffo of Liverpool, NY; grandsons, Tony (Katherine) Ruffo of Rochester, NY and Guy (Stephanie) Ruffo of Skaneateles, NY; great grandchildren, Madison, Alex, Sofia and Sam Ruffo; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Michelangelo and Maria Raphael Gaglio; siblings, Rose Shifflet, Charles Gaglio, Mary DeSantis, Michael Gaglio, and Laura Jackson; Father and Mother-in-law, John and Laura Ruffo, sisters-in-law, Grace (Angelo) Mancini and Ann (Michael) Vacchiano. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 12th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13th, 10 a.m. at the FARONE & SON Inc Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Liverpool, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Dewitt. Share condolences at www.faroneandsoninc.com.
