Ramona Canutt Obituary

Ramona "Gail" Canutt

1938 - 2025

Long time valley resident Ramona "Gail" Canutt, passed away Thursday April 3rd in Ojai, California surrounded by family and loved ones. She had been battling cancer for several months and passed in her sleep.

Ramona Gail Crenshaw was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1938 to Buck and Anna B Crenshaw. She has two siblings. One brother, Don and one sister, Sharon.

Gail, or Gigi, as she was known by many, moved to California in the mid 1950's when she met and eventually married Joe Canutt. They lived in Northridge, California and had three children, Michelle, Lea & Zeke.

They moved the whole family to Buellton, California in 1971 where they bought a ranch, built a house, and raised their family. Joe & Gail spent over 50 cherished years together, building a life rooted in love & hard work. Their greatest job was being grandparents to their 8 grandchildren.

Wherever she went, she brought out, smiles, due to her Sparky attitude and caring demeanor, as well as a lot of bling bling attire. She was known for her sound advice, and understanding heaven just got a little brighter. She is now and will always be missed.

Rest in peace Gigi

I don´t even know where to begin my thoughts and memories of Gail.... She literally saved my life and marriage many years ago. She took me under her wing as one of her own, and for that, I´ll forever be grateful. I use her wisdom and advice to this day on a daily basis. My deepest sympathy and prayers to her Family. And many thanks for sharing your precious Gigi with me and so many
