Medart - Lila Raker Carter of Medart, Florida, passed away with her family at her side on October 10, 2018, at the age of 77 after a long illness.

Lila was born to William and Lillie Mae Raker of Sopchoppy, Florida, on January 29, 1941. She married Hiram Carter on October 9, 1959, and they had been married for 59 years when she passed away.

Lila is survived by her husband, Hiram Carter; three daughters: Sandy Moore (Tommy) of Tallahassee, Debbie Carter of Medart, Pamela Pottschmidt (Eric) of Tallahassee; and her twin sister, Lilla Raker Moody of Crawfordville.

She is also survived by five grandchildren: Amy Jones (Roman), Sarah Collins (Tanner), twins Matthew Pottschmidt and Sydney Pottschmidt, Gabriele Kent; and six great grandchildren: Fisher Collins, Sofia Jones, twins Truman Jones and Sadie Jones, Olivia Collins and Rory Collins.

Lila enjoyed traveling especially to the Smoky Mountains; she loved growing flowers and could grow enormous ferns. She loved her family most of all.

Fellowship and Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, at Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey Young Chapel (3106 Crawfordville Hwy, Crawfordville, FL 32327). The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, at River of Life Church (445 Donaldson-Williams Road, Crawfordville FL 32327). Interment will immediately follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens on Friendship Church Road, Crawfordville FL 32327.
