Tallahassee - Roberta (Bobbie) Galbreth Holloway, 91, of Tallahassee and formerly of Miami, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Bertrand Health Care Center at Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Monday, August 13th at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road in Tallahassee. The service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial has been scheduled for Saturday, August 18th in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, NY.

Bobbie was born September 30, 1926 in Vallejo, CA to Joseph Galbreth, Jr. and Ruth Charters Galbreth, both of Nyack, NY. She graduated from Nyack High School in 1944 and in 1947 graduated from Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in New York City. She and her mother moved to Miami, where Bobbie was the Director of the Practical Nursing Program at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach. Bobbie married former State Senator Vernon Carlyle Holloway of Miami. Sen. Holloway owned and operated Interstate Electric Company in Miami.

While living in Miami Bobbie was a member of and Past Worthy Matron of the Biscayne Bay Chapter #75, Order of the Eastern Star. She and Senator Holloway later moved to Tallahassee, where Bobbie was instrumental in the organization and formation of Tarsus Temple #161, Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Tallahassee, and in recent years has been an active resident of Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in Tallahassee.

Survivors include her children, Jean Holloway Ledew of Lake City, FL and Lee Anthony Holloway (Debbie) of High Springs, FL; grandchildren Jeannie Ledew Cartee (Dave) of Pensacola, Suzanne Michelle Ledew, also of Pensacola, Ashly Ann Oria-Adams (Sean) of Concord, NC, Anthony Vernon Holloway of Maple Grove, MN, Amanda Ella Holloway of Lake City and Megan Michelle Holloway of High Springs. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son Vernon C. Holloway, Jr.
