Robert E. Chason Sr.

Robert E. Chason Sr. HOSFORD - Robert E. Chason Sr., 81, a retired surveyor who worked for the Florida Department of Transportation, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margie Chason. The service will be at 2 p.m. EST Monday at Telogia Assembly of God Church in Telogia, with burial at Chason Cemetery in Liberty County. Family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. EST today at McClellan Funeral Home in Bristol (850-643-3636). Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308, or Telogia Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 124, Hosford, FL 32334. Mr. Chason was a lifelong resident of Liberty County. He was a member of Telogia Assembly of God Church, where he was a deacon for 30 years and taught Sunday school most of that time. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II in the 244th Field Artillery Battalion. Other survivors include a son, Robert E. Chason Jr. of Hosford; two daughters, Adina Combs of Hosford and Mary Peddie of Bristol; a brother, Amos Chason of Telogia; a sister, Lois Whitehead of Telogia; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
