Dr. Morgan A. Hanson Dr. Morgan A. Hanson, 77, died Sunday, October 7, 2007. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian Hanson. The service will be at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (850-893-4177). Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. EDT Tuesday, October 9, at the funeral home. Dr. Hanson was a native of Brisbane, Australia, and a longtime resident of Tallahassee. A renowned scientist and author in the fields of Statistics and Linear Programming, he completed his doctoral studies at the University of New South Wales, Australia. He taught at several universities in Australia and Canada. Dr. Hanson retired from Florida State University, Department of Statistics in 1996. Following his retirement, he continued his research, writing and assisting numerous international doctoral students in the field of Linear Programming. He is also survived by one son, Morgan Hanson (and wife Ruth) of Orbost, Australia; four daughters, Glenda Ricks (and husband Gene) of Crawfordville, Rosemary English (and husband Dave) of Tallahassee, Carolyn Hanson of Crawfordville and Gail English of Tallahassee; stepdaughter, Julie Herring (and husband John) of Canberra, Australia; a sister, June Anthony (and husband David) of Brisbane, Australia; 11 grandchildren, Michael Hambrick, Christopher Knapp, David Kelley, Joshua Kelley, Marcus Kelley, Amanda Ricks, Stephen English, Keith English, Sarah Hanson-Young, Zoe Hanson and Owen Hanson; as well as six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Heidi, Triston, Colby, Katelind and Kora.
