81, of St. Petersburg, FL, has gone to be with the Lord Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Highland Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Clearwater, FL. Arlene was born August 6, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Karl P. Hapsic and Helen Rombach-Hapsic. She met the love of her life and married her high school sweetheart, Albert A. Greco, June 17, 1958 and started a family together.
In 1975, the family moved from their native Pittsburgh, PA to live here in St. Petersburg, FL to enjoy the sun, the warm breeze, and the gulf waters, but especially for the beautiful weather.
She was part-owner and secretary for the family business, P. Greco and Sons, Inc., a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister, teacher, coach, and encourager. She loved people and would do anything to make you happy or to have your laugh. She was her children's and grandchildren's number one fan in all their endeavors. She loved her children and grandchildren for she was the "bestest" mommy in the whole wide world. She was our inspiration. She also loved all her fur babies, and her Pittsburgh Steelers. We all love and miss you already, and as always, we love you more. xoxo
She is survived by her husband, Albert A. Greco; and three daughters, Patricia J. Greco and Lisa M. Greco, both of St. Petersburg, FL, Denise A. Shirley of Largo, FL; daughter-in-law, Laura W. Greco of Pinellas Park, FL; and seven grandchildren; her sisters, Joan E. Sykes of Stockton, CA, Donnalee Hamilton of Aliquippa, PA, and Bobbie Smith of Masontown, WV. She is also survived by all her children's and grandchildren's friends who also called her "Mom, Little Mama, or Little Grandma." Arlene was preceded in this journey by son, Alan A. Greco; her brothers, Carl H. Hapsic and Robert J. Hapsic; her sister, Avis Meek, and half-sister, Sandra K. Rodeheaver.
Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL, Saturday, July 14, public viewing 10-11 am, with Service at 11 am by Pastor Todd Marshall officiating with Celebration of Life Reception to follow, 12-2 pm.
