Ann McIntyre Obituary

MCINTYRE, Ann Carty died on Wednesday, Aug. 3 2011. Ann quietly passed away surrounded by family at the Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne, MD. She was 93. Originally from the village of Carrigallen, Co. Lietrim, Ireland, Ann immigrated to England at age 16 to be with her older sister Molly and onto NYC, NY in 1939, where she met and wed her husband John J. in 1942. Widowed in 1974, she moved to a small condo in Sun City Center, where she led an active life until recent years when she went to Maryland under the care of her son, Gerald, RN, until his death in December 2009. Ann was a devout Catholic and attended Prince of Peace Church, Sun City Center. She was a past president of her Andover Condo Association and was a good neighbor and friend to all she met. Ann was the last surviving child of Margaret Slevin and Thomas Carty of Errew, Carrigallen, Co. Lietrim, Ireland. Sisters Molly & Maggie; brothers James, Thomas, Paddy preceded her in death. She is survived by two of her sons, John (Ellen) of Casselberry, and James (Brenda) of Delaware and two grandchildren, Stacey and Graham and many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces in England, Ireland and the U.S. Masses will be said in her memory at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Landover Hills, MD, where she raised her family and her most recent parish, Holy Name of Jesus in Pocomoke City, MD, and Prince of Peace, Sun City Center. Interment will be private at Washington National Cemetery.
