Arthur Miller Obituary

79, of Floral City, FL, passed on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 after a brief illness. Born in St. Petersburg, Art Miller received his diploma from SPHS in 1956. He graduated from Davidson College in 1960. After college, Art served as a lieutenant, commanding a Special Forces-Green Beret unit in Germany during the early years of the cold war. He left the military in 1966 then started a travel agency and the first snow ski club in Florida, before retiring in 1996 and recently moving to Floral City. Art was an avid sportsman - hunting, fishing, triathlons, cycling, and yacht racing across the Gulf of Mexico multiple times. He was proud to sing in the Indian Rocks Beach Baptist Choir and performed as a guest singer in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. A proud member of Kiwanis, Promise Keepers, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, he explored dozens of countries and made friends all over the world. Art is survived by his sister, Marsha Starkey and her family; his children, Linda, Thomas, and Joy. He was blessed with four granddaughters, Riley, Dorothy, Rachael, and Tallulah; a great-granddaughter named Lily Joy; and a noble Weimaraner he named Azell. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Lifelinedogrescue.org.
