BELLAMY, Donald Adrian

Vlad 75, of Hudson, FL, passed away on January 6, 2019. Born on February 10, 1943 in Iscroni, Romania to Aurel C. and Elisabet Covaci, he graduated from the Bucharest Institute of Technology in 1965 with a special award for two stage satellite booster design. He was a member of the management team of Tarom Airlines until 1970. He came to the United States in 1978, working as an aerospace architect for Hughes Aircraft Company and Rockwell International Space Division. A member of the design team of advanced attack helicopter AAH-64 and space shuttles Columbia and Enterprise, he designed several high performance sailplanes and interior and exterior of Allouette and Puma helicopters. Author of a French-Romanian Aerospace dictionary and designer of the liquid rocker engine AV-1, he was a member of the AIAA club. Burial will be in Romania.
