Elisabeth ZINN Obituary

ZINN, Elisabeth "Lis" (Bornheim)

82, passed away July 7, 2017. Born in Holland and raised in Germany, she attended university in London where she met and married the love of her life, Arthur Dale Zinn, who was in the US Air Force. They traveled all over while in the service and settled in St. Petersburg in 1971. Lis is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur; her two children, Mike Zinn and June Zinn Hobby (Blake); her grandchildren, Trevor, Paige, and Justin, and their mother, Susan Van Lede. "Oma" loved teaching her grandkids to swim, read, bake pies, make crafts, and never missed their sporting events or performances. Lis was a creative designer/dressmaker for over 40 years with clients who often became dear friends. She enjoyed traveling the world with Arthur, was an avid Rays fan, a dedicated volunteer, and played tennis three times a week. Lis truly lived her life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Donations may be made in Lis's name to The Christmas Toy Shop, 550 16th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33705.

I have fond memories of Lis on and off the tennis court. She reminded me of the energizer bunny. A great asset to the Racquettes, where she was president from 2006-2009. Always ready to help, she was creative, intelligent and generous. My condolences to her family.
