PALMISANO, Eric Anthony, Lance Cpl., 27, of Brandon, previously, of Chicago, Ill., died April 2, 2006 in the line of duty in al Asad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Transportation Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1 Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Eric died with eight other marines and one sailor when a flash flood rolled over the 7- ton truck he was riding in. Eric was listed as duty status- whereabouts unknown until April 11, 2006. One sailor is still listed as duty status- whereabouts unknown. While in the Marines since March 15, 2005, Eric was presented the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a Marine sharpshooter. He attended Seffner Elementary, Franklin Middle School and Armwood High School. He played soccer for Brandon Area Youth Soccar League from age 5, and played soccer and football at Armwood . He received his Associates of Arts degree from Seminole Community College in Orlando. Eric is survived by his mother, Roberta Samme; stepfather, Michael Lovett; brother, Salvatore Palmisano; maternal grandparents, Robert and Gloria McCauslin; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Marie Palmisano and fiancee, aunts, uncles, cousins, his , and many friends. The full military funeral with honors will be 10 a.m. April 22, 2006 in Chicago, Ill. and Eric will be laid to rest next to his father in Queen's Heaven Cemetery. Eric will be surely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
