SWOPE, Frank Lynn

age 68, of Tampa, born in Lansing MI June 6, 1948, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 10, 2016. The son of Burton Swope and Alberta Noack, enlisted in the Navy on Nov. 26, 1967, serving during Vietnam on the U.S.S Annapolis. After Vietnam Frank moved to Tampa and earned his Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from the University of Tampa in 1978. He joined the Tampa Police Department where he served with distinction until retiring in 1981. He then served in dispatch at Temple Terrace Police Department from 1985 until his retirement in 2008. Frank spent his final years working at Village Stamp and Coin. His passions were rare coins, bass fishing, Tampa Bay Lightning and Sundays at the gun range. Frank is survived by his wife, Lucinda Bellinger-Swope; his sons, Burton (Brooke) Swope and Erik Payne; and brother, Terry (Mary) Swope of Helena, MT. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at 4 pm, at FOP Lodge 27, located at 6912 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa, FL 33604. Please direct any donations to www.tampafop27.com.
