Dr. Herbert Hopkins

HOPKINS, Dr. Herbert John, 86, of Lake Placid, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in Lake Placid Health Care Center. He was born in Lawrence, Mass. and came to Lake Placid in 1985 from Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He was a medical doctor in the healthcare field. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sebring. He was a radio engineer from 1937-1945. He attended Aurora College in 1945-1948 and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He attended the University of Illinois School of Medicine in 1948-1952. He held a masters degree in chemistry. He practiced medicine from 1952-1985 in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He is survived by his brother, Frank E. Hopkins and his wife Lynne; two grandchildren.
