83, passed away June 10, 2018 at his home in Brandon, FL. He was born July 26, 1934, in Holladay, TN. He was the son of the late Earl and Gertrude Franks. Jack graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He later moved to Brandon, FL and became a successful entrepreneur and business owner in the local community. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Brandon. Jack enjoyed sports, attending countless Tampa Bay Buccaneer games, and was inducted into the Benton County High School Athletics Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed traveling, visiting all seven continents in his journeys. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara; his son, Mike and wife, Chris; his daughter, Rachel and husband, Mike; three grandchildren, Josh, Heather and husband, Clay, and David. He is also survived by his sisters, Anita, Sally and Mary Lou; and brother, Charles. A memorial service in his honor will be held June 16, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Brandon, 216 N. Parsons Ave., Brandon, FL 33510. Visitation at 10 am, service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to The Gideons International, www.gideons.org; or the American Bible Society, www.americanbible.org.
