KENDER, Joseph J.

a long time resident of Oak Creek, WI passed away September 5, 2018 at the age of 96 in Holiday, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice and his grandson, Nathan Kender and wife, Jennifer. He is survived by sons, Richard (Cathy) and John (Sue), and daughters, Kathleen Dermody, Cynthia (Richard) Eaton, and his favorite, Laurel Kender (Daniel Becerra). He also leaves behind his loving companion, Gladys Miller; a brother Casmir, sisters, Irene and Genevieve, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. Joe lived an active and healthy life. He especially enjoyed softball, horseshoes and dancing. He was a member of the Oak Creek Legion Post 434 for over 70 years and was also a Fire and Police Commissioner in Oak Creek. He proudly served his country in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. A private service will be held at the Bushnell National Cemetery, FL, where he will be laid to rest. Donations, if desired, may be made in Joe's name to the American Legion Post 434, 9327 S. Shepard Ave., Oak Creek, WI 53154.
