To the Callahan Family, I am so sorry for your loss.
To Michael;
Thank you for the joy and smiles you brought to so many people while you visited this earth. Zany, unique, talented, entertaining always. You could enter a room and it came alive ! You, my friend, were an original. I envy that you were never afriad to try something new or be seen as different, in fact you strived for that at times. Thank you my friend for so many wonderful,colorful memories. Guess what; heaven's having a party, and your're the guest of honor;I know you will have a great time, because you always loved a party ! God Bless you, Mike.

To Mike's Family .... Peace

After 53 years of knowing you, there are a thousand memories. Your life in our little community of Tarpon Springs, from elementary and high school, and all the years since, you gave to us and everyone so very many happy times. You had much more than a full life here. We know you haven't really left us. Continue to have great fun with our other friends who are on the new adventure on the other side. Rock on! And, don't forget to join us in a toast to us all on Epiphany!

You brought back some great memories of the old Star Spectacular shows at the Clearwater Auditorium. You have spent your life working with music and crazy musicians. How great was that?
From your Ruth Eckerd Hall family we will miss you. Hope somebody up there knows you love bread pudding.

Wanee Fest 2006 and 2007 spending time with Mike Callahan, Kim Payne, and the usual suspects was truly a memorable and positive adventure. I knew Mike just well enough to know he was a cool cat who lived through far more than his "nine lives" with an abundance of funny true stories and cosmic conversations. Also an excellent breakfast chef during a gathering of friends in Macon a couple years ago. Those who knew Mike Callahan
will always be blessed with the continuing presence of his free spirit & friendship.

My deepest condolences to his family & friends.
I never met Callahan but being a huge ABB fan, music history buff & also a musician, I greatly appreciate his efforts to preserve & documant that era. I've read some great tales from those days. I'd like to think he's taping some jams with Skydog & all the other fallen brothers somwhere right now...

I love you Callahan. I am sure going to miss talking on the phone, even though it was hard for me to get a word in sometimes. I always listened and paid attention to the words you spoke. I thank you for all the time you spent sharing the stories of the road, for teaching me life's lessons the best way one can learn, from hearing of your own experiences. I always admired your honesty no matter what we were talking about.
So many laughs, wonderful memories and good times hanging out will forever be in my heart. I am a better person for having gotten the blessing of knowing you and my "Adopt an Old Roadie club" will never be the same without you. I promised you I would always look out for Kim, your friend and brother and I will keep that promise as long as I am on this road.
The road does go on forever, even though you went on ahead up the road before us, we will all be together again...I am sure of that.

Mike,

I am certainly glad I got to meet you a couple of years back. As an avid Allman Brothers Band fan, your contributions to the early days of the band, all the road dogging you did with Kim, Red Dog, Joe Dan, Twiggs and the other crew members who followed, helped make the band what they were and still are today. Thank you for having the foresight to record a lot of the shows from the sound board. Music is a gift, as Duane once said, and you wrapped up a lot of those shows for all of us to enjoy today. I wish God would have had more time to give you in this life, but when He calls, we don't always have the luxury of saying, "Hang on a second, Pop!" I hope you had a joyous reunion with your folks, Duane, Berry, Lamar, Twiggs, Joe Dan, Buffalo and all the others you loved amd who went on ahead of you. Hope to see you again in the by and by. "Will the circle be unbroken?" "The road goes on forever."
