Morton STUPP Obituary
88, of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Morton "Mort" came to Tampa in 1961. In December of 1951, he was drafted into the Army and served during the Korean War. Prior to and followin, his military service, Mort attended the Wharton Evening School at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his education at the University of Florida. Mort took the CPA exam and passed it the first time. Mort moved to Florida in 1957, where he met his future wife, Elaine.

Mort served as a past president of the airport Kiwanis Club and Financial Secretary of Temple Schaarai Zedek for many years. Together with his wife, Mort served as Youth Group advisor and Membership Chairman. Mort received the Temple's President's Cup for his many hours of service in 1974. He was also involved in the Florida Orchestra.

Mort had an amazing personality and a quick wit and was frequently referred to by the nickname "Trouble." He liked to refer to himself as a seven-minute extrovert and claimed he could speak to anyone for at least seven minutes; but, all who knew him found him to be a warm and witty person.

Mort leaves behind a devoted wife of 60 plus years, Elaine; son, Gary (Mary); daughter, Shari; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther and Dorothy; and sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Robert (Bro) Lockhart to cherish his memory.

Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Schaarai Zedek Cemetery, Ola Avenue, Tampa, at 9:30 am. A memorial service will follow at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Avenue, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Temple Schaarai Zedek, Cantor's Fund, 3303 W. Swann Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609.
