age 91, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on March 21, 2016. He was Born in Seffner, FL, the son of Felix & Eleanor Chive. He was married to Martha Jones Chive 61 years. She preceded him in death in 2013. Mr. Chive graduated from Plant City High School and went on to play football for the University of Florida in 1941 and 1942. He then volunteered to join the Army and served in Europe during World War II. He returned to the University of Florida and graduated in 1947. He began his accounting career with M.A. Montenegro & Company, which merged with Arthur Young and later became Ernst & Young. He was the Senior Tax Partner of the Tampa office when he retired in 1984. He continued working in tax practice as a personal representative & trustee until 2015. Active in many charities, Mr. Chive served as an officer or board member of the Kiwanis Club of Palma Ceia, Catholic Charities, Jesuit High School Foundation, St. Joseph Hospital Board of Trustees and the Diocese of St. Petersburg Finance Council. He is a past President of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club. He was a generous father, brother and friend and was respected by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his stepson, Warren Phillips; his sister, Mary Louise Vickers; and his niece, Mary Ann Jones. Survivors include his daughter, Janet Chive; his son, John Chive, and daughter-in-law, Joanne Chive. He is survived also by his sister, Cecilia Felentzer; brothers-in-law, Robert Jones and Desmond Vickers; sister- in-law, Joyice Jones; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be private. The family will host a visitation reception on Friday, March 25, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the U.F. Foundation, Inc. (marked for Theodore F. Chive Scholarship). Checks may be mailed to:
