Thomas COLEMAN Obituary

COLEMAN, Thomas J. 80, passed away on March 31, 2013. He was born in New York City to Josephine and Thomas Coleman. He spent his childhood and young adult years in Woodside Queens, NY. Tom joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950, assigned to military intelligence during the Korean Conflict and later imprisoned in a Korean POW camp. During this time, he received among other honors and awards, the Bronze Star, Air Force Commendation Metal and a Purple Heart. Prior to entering government service, he was an aerospace engineer for Bell Labs and Raytheon for the TITAN and TITAN II missile systems. His government service included serving in various capacities for the Department of Defense. He is a published author of numerous articles on psychological warfare and four books on Automatic Test Equipment. His educational background includes numerous degrees, including PhDs in Philosophy and Global Management. Tom is survived by his wife, Deloris of 56 years; sons, Shawn (Carla), Jonathan (Rick), and Brian (Terrie); his 5 grandchildren; brothers, Gerry, Edward and Frank; eight nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Private service in New Jersey. Military service will be at Arlington National Cemetery later this year. In Lieu of flowers, family asks donations to: Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, Fisher House GPF 1093, in memory of Thomas J. Coleman.

So sorry to lose a good friend as Tom. We all enjoyed playing Poker with him and other good friends at my house every week. We will miss him dearly.

Dear Deloris and Family,

So sorry to hear of your loss. I know it has been a long time since I have seen Mr. Coleman but he holds a very special place in my heart. Many years ago I was close to all of you and often think of the entire family. I have fond memories of the family and especially Mr. Coleman.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you. Mr. Coleman and is kindness will be greatly missed by many people, especially me.
