To Bill and family,

Beth Shields was not only an inspiration to those around her, but also doled out hope without judgment for those of us in trouble. She helped me stay in school after becoming pregnant and got me a job at the roofing company where I started college as well. And 18 years later my beautiful daughter became a teacher as well. Beth, you touched many lives in a positive way and will be truly missed. Bill and family my prayers are with you.

Dear Bill, Doug, Kathy and the rest of the family,

Just living life and what it brings us makes us stronger, or so they tell me, but it doesn't always seem fair, does it? I wish I had magic words of comfort, but I don't. I DO know what helps: the priceless memories you have of your family, its strength and its weaknesses, but mostly the love you had and still have for one another. Beth was the core and the heart of your family and she will live with you always, this wonderfully strong and caring woman. For the rest of us, the children she touched and those others of us who treasured her friendship, she will always be a part of us. Thank God for her life.

With much love for you all,

Kelly Akeman
