Beth is someone that has touched so many lives and one that will be truly missed by so many. I was close to Beth when I went to Robinson in the 70's. She was a true roll model for me. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during these times.

Beth Shields was not only an inspiration to those around her, but also doled out hope without judgment for those of us in trouble. She helped me stay in school after becoming pregnant and got me a job at the roofing company where I started college as well. And 18 years later my beautiful daughter became a teacher as well. Just living life and what it brings us makes us stronger, or so they tell me, but it doesn't always seem fair, does it? I wish I had magic words of comfort, but I don't. I DO know what helps: the priceless memories you have of your family, its strength and its weaknesses, but mostly the love you had and still have for one another. Beth was the core and the heart of your family and she will live with you always, this wonderfully strong and caring woman. Mrs. Shields was my guidance couselor, dean of girls and my friend at Robinson in 1970. I was able to lean on her strength as a teacher and friend when I needed her. Please know she touched many lives and was a "one of a kind" person. My prayers go out to you in your loss.
