PECORA, Karen Jane, 67, of Tampa, passed away at home with her husband at her side Septem-ber 5, 2011. She was the beloved wife of William Pecora, her husband of 39 years. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Wilde of Des Moines, Iowa; her sisters-in-law, Susan Sipe of Adel, Iowa, and Kathleen (James) Beswick of Scotia, N.Y.; along with nieces and nephew, Stacey (Matt) Smith, Rondea Wine, Scott Wilde, Veronica (Matt) Beswick and Theresa (Justin) Malinowski. Karen was born in Panora, Iowa. She graduated from Drake University with a degree in art education and was an art teacher in Chicago, Ill., for 12 years. Bill and Karen were married in Chicago in 1972. She later studied at the University of Illinois School of Dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, practicing dentistry for a number of years. Karen's real passion was her artwork. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and was a signature member of the National Watercolor Society. Her works have been sold by a number of art galleries throughout South Florida. Viewing hours will be 5-6 p.m. Thursday, September 8, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar/West Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Drive in Tampa, followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the SPCA Tampa Bay.
