Chris Gerold Obituary

Chris Gerold, Age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home in Redondo Beach on March 20 from Pancreatic Cancer. Chris was born in Santa Monica and grew up in Redondo Beach. He was the oldest of 3 sons of Phil and Melissa Gerold. Chris lived a full life and had many "adventures" as he liked to call them. He was a Los Angeles County Lifeguard in the 1960's and 1970's. He started a door and window business and owned the Golden Nugget in the 1970's. Later he started a construction & development business, Gerold Development, and eventually NBD Development. He was well known for driving through town in his big trucks, always tagged by a NO BAD DAYS sticker on the back window. He loved coaching his boys and their friends sports teams. He later loved cheering on his grandchildren at any opportunity. He is survived by the love of his life, Irene, his children; Tamera and her husband Greg Benedict, Matthew, Mark and his wife Malia Gerold, Meghan and her husband Tony Tealdi, Mackenzie and her husband Vinny Giglio, and Jason Johnson and family. He enjoyed spending time with his 8 grandchildren, James, Charlie, Will, Kai, Nolan, Reece, Wyland, and Weslie, and always tried to make "Papa" their first word. He is also survived by his brother Brian, his wife Debbie and their family. As a good friend once said "Chris has never met a stranger". He had an outgoing personality & always enjoyed a good time! As Chris would say, it was a hell of a ride. NO BAD DAYS. For information on the Celebration of Life, please email [email protected]

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one, Chris. May 1 Thessalonians 4:14 bring you some comfort in knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death. They are very precious in Gods eyes. May the God of all comfort strengthen your family during this time of deep sorrow.
