E. JOHN WARNER, age 71, died following a long illness. Born in Evanston, Ill, John was the son of the late Katherine and Gene Warner. John moved to Canton at a young age and graduated from Lehman High School. He attended the University of Miami (Fla) where he was a member of SAE and graduated from The Ohio State University. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Carnegie Mellon University and the Program for Executives at Harvard. He also completed courses at the University of Michigan, Kent State University, Florida Atlantic University and the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. John retired from Diebold, Inc. where he was Director of Strategic Planning. He subsequently was President of the W. L. Jenkins Co., and President of Harrison Paint Company and CFO of Velo International. John was a member of the Board of Directors of the W.L. Jenkins Co. and the BWOAC. John was the General Chairman of the 50th Campaign of the Central Stark County United Way and served on the Board of the United Way. He was the Treasurer and an usher of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. John was a volunteer and served on the Board of the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. He was a member of the Indian River Planning Commission. John was a member of Glenmoor Country Club and the John's Island Club. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nan, and two sons and their families: John and Kelly of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Vero Beach, Florida and their children, Elizabeth, Audrey and John; and Tom and Cary of San Marino, California and their children, William and Sarah. He was predeceased by a sister. Private services were held in Canton. In his memory, the family requests one pay forward, help save the seas and cheer for the Buckeyes.
