JOHN A. "JACK" ANDREWS PENTWATER, MI John Anthony "Jack" Andrews, age 81, died November 7, 2012. Jack was born in Manistee on February 3, 1931 to Gertrude and John Andrews. Jack graduated from St. Jean's High School in Muskegon and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He attended Michigan State University where he met his loving wife Silence Margaret Austin in the Journalism Department. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary as devoted life partners. He worked at the Grand Rapids Herald, Lear Siegler and Steelcase. Since his retirement, Jack and Silence have divided their time between Pentwater, Michigan and Meadowood Golf & Tennis Club near Vero Beach, Florida. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed teaching his children to fish and his grandchildren how to play tennis and golf. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by a son Dennis Scott Andrews, and two brothers. FAMILY: Jack is survived by his wife, Silence Margaret, son Steven James (and Mary) Andrews, daughter Kyle Anne (and Tom) Jansen. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Neal (and Brittney) and Garrett Andrews, and John (and Jessica), Brian and Anne Jansen. A Funeral Service was held Monday, November 12, 2012, at 12:00 PM, at St. Simon Catholic Church, 702 E. Bryant Ave., Ludington, with Rev. Fr. Wayne B. Wheeler officiating. Interment was at Pentwater Township Cemetery. A Military Salute was conducted at the cemetery.
