Jerry, I am sorry to hear that Ada passed away. She was a great lady and someone who will always be remembered with a smile. She made an impact on me when I first met her many years ago and I am glad that we were able to cross paths a few times over the years. Her storytelling was a wonderful gift that touched so many people. Her concern for wildlife conservation was exceptional and I am thankful that she has left a legacy of her work that will continue to reach out to others for generations to come. May you eventually find an inner peace about her passing and only remember the joys of your life together. I will always remember the twinkle in her eyes and the bright light that seemed to shine from Ada's face when she smiled. She was a very special lady.

Ada, God bless and keep you.
Jerry, I'm so sorry to realize Ada is gone. I appreciated her presence at each Florida Folklore Society meeting or Florida folk Festival.
Take care.

Ada was a story star in my life, in fact you could say that she made up an entire constellation called StoryTree. I loved Ada as a sister and we shared many heartfelt moments in that sisterhood, and many more in the world of story. You came into my world laughing and smiling and I know that you will continue on in the next life doing the same thing.

Jerry,
We are so sorry for your loss. Ada was an inspiration to all of us storytellers and audiences alike. Even though the stage is empty of her presence, her voice continues to echo in our hearts.

Dear Jerry,
It was with a great sense of loss when we heard of Ada’s passing. We wanted to let you know that you have our greatest sympathy, and our heart(s) are truly saddened. Ada was more than just a wonderful person; she had an amazing gift that spoke mountains through the stories she shared with so many. And, we know that her passing will not only leave a void in all those who were lucky enough to have known her, but in the hearts of all her family members. Ada and you, Jerry, will remain in our daily prayers. May God give you strength.

Celeste,
It is times like this where you want the words of comfort to come easily. Unfortunately, all too often these words seclude themselves from what one really wants to express.
With the amazing woman you have become, you definitely had a wonderful role model to look up to. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers in this time of grief, yet a time of rejoicing for her life she lived here on Earth. She gave so much of herself by teaching and guiding so many kids, both young and old.
I am deeply saddened by your loss.

Celeste & Jerry,
Ada had such a profound impact on many lives. I will always remember her pancake breakfasts after sleep overs. It seemed she always had a neighborhood kid over when Celeste was growing up...kind of an open door policy. What a beautiful and lively person....she is greatly missed.

Jerry, I am sorry for your loss. I regret that I neglected to keep in touch with Ada - though I always read her emails and kept up with her in that way...it truly wasn't enough. She really helped my radio show by introducing a lot of color and character to the history of the area in the stories she told. The folk community will miss her spirited presentations for sure. Jerry - my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Ada... it has been many years since we all worked at DOC/STK, but I have fond memories of those days. Keep all the good times close to heart, Ada was a gentle, loving person, and I am sure will be missed until that day you meet up with her again...
