Esther Erving

Esther Erickson Erving, 86, died Jan. 15, 2013, at Nature's Edge Assisted Living, Port St. Lucie. She was born in St. Paul, Minn., and lived in Jensen Beach from 1995 to 2004 before moving to Port St. Lucie. She was a World War II cadet nurse. Before retirement, she worked for the Visiting Nurse Association of Martin County. She volunteered with cat rescue groups. Survivors include her children and stepchildren, Christine Reed of Houston, Jan Moody-Mills of Enterprise, Craig Moody of Port St Lucie, Pam Larsen, Wendy Erving and John "Jay" Erving III, all of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband of six years, John M. Erving. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. Services: A private family celebration of life will be in Port St. Lucie. Arrangements are by National Cremation Society, Lake Worth.
