James Franklin Graves II
VERO BEACH, FL
James Franklin Graves, II, fondly known as Jimmy, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Vero Beach, Florida from injuries received in a boating accident. He was 15.
The son of Joseph H. and Carole George Graves, Jimmy was born in Vero Beach and had attended St. Edward's School for many years before attending Vero Beach High School. At VBHS he was known as a likable student and athlete who would quickly contribute to the football team. Jimmy and his family attended Genesis Church in Vero Beach and were members of Quail Valley Club.
One cannot overstate how much he loved his family, football and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is survived by his sisters Emily and Sara Graves; paternal grandparents Rev. James F. and Betty H. Graves; maternal grandparents Joseph Leo and Linda George all of Vero Beach; aunt Debbie (Mark) Hawk of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and their children Matthew (Jessica) Hawk, Jason (Laura) Hawk and Kelly Hawk, and grandchildren Logan, Landon, Layton and Averi; aunt Becky (Jim) Osborn of Houston, Texas and their children Meredith Osborn, Megan (Will) Wolf and Jimmy Osborn, and granddaughter Lennon; uncle Joseph "Joey" (Jill) George of Hot Springs, Arkansas and their children Chelsea (Alex) Miller, Katelyn (Gunner) Pritchard and Elliot George; and the beloved Graves family dogs Jake and Oscar.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Graves Memorial Fund, c/o VBHS Football, 1707 16th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
The family will receive friends 6-9 PM, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Vero Beach. A funeral service celebrating his life will begin at 2 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the church. A private graveside service will follow.
