James J. Kiernan Jr.

James J. Kiernan Jr., 58, died Dec. 3, 2010, in Fort Pierce. He was born in Hartford, Conn., and lived in Fort Pierce since 1998, coming from Belford, N.J. He served three tours of duty in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Mildred Kiernan of Fort Pierce; daughters, Amie Marie Kiernan and Mary Beth Gonzalez, both of Connecticut; sisters, Catherine Whitehead of Fort Pierce, Mary Kiernan of East Hartford, Conn., Theresa Breaux of South Windsor, Conn., and Patricia Verdame of Southington, Conn.; brother, Harry Kiernan of Glastonbury, Conn; stepson, Richard Garrett; stepdaughters, Kathleen Sannicolas, Maureen Schnoor, and Patricia O'Grady; three grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and James Kiernan; and sister, Margaret Thomas.
