Joseph A. Befumo Holiday

A Celebration of Life

Joseph A. Befumo Holiday passed away February 9th, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born in Italy, lived in Newark, NJ and wintered in Port St. Lucie since 1988. He leaves his wife Florence (Kelly), son Thomas Breining, daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Scott Nixon. He played in the Coast Guard Band during World War II. He recorded for Decca and Prestige Records as a great jazz tenor saxophone player. He is in the Jazz Encyclopedia. He was President of St. Lucie Professional Arts League for 16 years. He was a member of the Arts and Culture Group. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Art and Music in 2005 from the county, plus many other awards. He produced Art & All That Jazz and took the arts to all the parks in Port St. Lucie. He was a member of the Treasure Coast Art League. He performed at the Lyric Theater with big bands. He was an artist as well as a musician. Condolences to 772-337-3250.
