Lionel A. Varnadoe Jr., 62, died April 15, 2010, in Fort Pierce. He was born in Jacksonville and lived in Fort Pierce since 1981, coming from Gaffney-Union, S.C. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and received his master's and doctorate degrees from Walden University. He worked for Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for 29 years as a lab medical technologist. He wrote a book on Lab Medical Technology and was a reporter for the News Blaze international newspaper. Survivors include his wife, Ann Varnadoe of Fort Pierce; son, Bernard Varnadoe of Fort Pierce; and sisters, Ardith Thomas of Jacksonville, Kathryn Walters of Lexington, S.C., and Nina Folsom of Live Oak. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marcus Varnadoe. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. April 18 at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be at 10 a.m. April 19 with the Rev.
