William Pickrel Obituary

PIQUA — William D. Pickrel, 62, of Piqua, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his residence.

He was born April 24, 1956 in Dayton to the late Richard and Janet (Meyer) Pickrel. He married Leah B. Bowman October 3, 1992 in Piqua, and she survives.

Other survivors include six children, Kane Pickrel of Dayton, Riley Pickrel of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Avery Pickrel, Sophie Pickrel, Meyer Pickrel, Irelan Pickrel all at home; and six siblings, John Pickrel, Jim (Connie) Pickrel, Mary Pickrel, Dan (Julie) Pickrel all of Dayton, Beth (John) Tranovich of Monroe, and Cathy Pickrel of Columbus. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Mr. Pickrel was a graduate of Centerville High School, earned his Bachelor Degree in Business from the Ohio State University and was a Sales Representative with the Pickrel Brothers Company of Dayton. He was an active member of the Christian Life Center, North Campus, Piqua. He loved his family, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed collecting coins, playing tennis and golf. He will be remembered for his strong faith, being a wonderful husband, father and friend to so many. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

A service to honor his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Christian Life Center, North Campus with Pastor David Dyess officiating. Burial will follow at Sugargrove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Life Center, 8654 N. County Rd. 25-A, Piqua, OH 45356.
