Charles Ivan Renner

PLEASANT HILL — Charles Ivan Renner, age 90, of Pleasant Hill, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born April 5, 1925, in Pleasant Hill, Ohio, to his parents Harry Russell & Sophia (Trost) Renner. Ivan graduated from Newton High School class of 1943.

On November 4, 1951, he married Ruby Ethel Schleinitz in Pleasant Hill and together they shared a life for over 64 years. Ivan worked as a farmer and plumber in the Miami County area. He was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren where he served as deacon, trustee chairman, and gave many hours of service to the church. He was a member of the Sheppard Diesel Tractor Club.

He will be missed and remembered by his loving family, wife Ruby; children and their spouses Thomas I. & Diane Renner of Bradford, Lois M. & Steve Hutchinson of Pleasant Hill, Mary Ann & Roger Mumford of Calabash, NC, Sarah E. & Tom Addington of Ludlow Falls, Faith E. & Rob Kelley of Laura; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings and their spouses Leon R. & Rosemary Renner of Kerrville, TX, Harry E. & Glenna Renner of Ludlow Falls, Olin R. & Carolyn Renner of McAllen, TX, Noel E. & Cynda Renner of Troy; and many special friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Hospice of Miami county and the staff at Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, for the care they showed to Ivan during their time with him.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, March 21, at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 300 E. Monument Street, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Nick Beam will officiate with interment following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren or Hospice of Miami County.
