Barbara Healey, 98
WORCESTER - Barbara (Paradise) Healey, 98, a longtime resident of Worcester, died peacefully on June 25, 2016 at the Holden Rehab and Nursing Center.
Barbara was born in Auburn, MA on August 16, 1917, the third daughter of Frank and Eva (Lagesse) Paradise. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester.
Barbara worked at the Veteran's Administrative Hospital in Rutland, MA, held several secretarial positions, and managed a gift shop in the Concord area.
After retiring, she spent many years as a docent at the Higgins Armory Museum and volunteered at the Frances Perkins Branch Library in Worcester.
She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Healey (1957), her sisters Doris Blaum (2001) and Rita Paradise (2003), and her beloved daughter Jane Perron (2002).
She leaves her son-in-law Joseph Perron; her granddaughters Bethany Perron of VT and Rebecca Kerzner (Aaron) of CT; three great-grandsons, Zachary, Jamie, and Seth Kerzner; and a niece and nephew.
There will be a calling hour, Wednesday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to Noon at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home at Noon. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
