Corilda M. (LeBlanc) Johnson, 94

Oxford - Corilda M. (LeBlanc) Johnson, 94, of Shady Lane, died peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Ernest T. Johnson who died in 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn A. Zabarsky of Oxford, and Janice M. Poole and her husband William of Dudley; a brother, Edmund LeBlanc of Ashland; five grandchildren, Dawn Poole, Bryant Poole, Jason Zabarsky, Marni Zabarsky, and Tara Cushing; seven great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Eric, Mia, Jordyn, Dakotah, Joseph, and Vincent; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, William of Cochituate, George of Worcester, and Roland of Florida; two sisters, Emma and Leona, both of Worcester; and her son-in-law, Robert Zabarsky. She was born in Woonsocket, RI, daughter of the late Peter LeBlanc and Clara M. (Lafond) LeBlanc-Ferron, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1956. She graduated from South High School in Worcester.

Mrs. Johnson worked at the David Clark Company in Worcester for 14 years, retiring in 1970. She stitched various garments for the company including full pressure high altitude suits used in space missions. She was an accomplished seamstress and dressmaker, sewing everything from custom window treatments to doll clothing, to everything in between. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting (especially afghans), and loved to go out dancing with her husband every Saturday night. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for the exceptional care given to Corilda. They would also like to thank Corilda's home health aide Tammy, for the compassionate and wonderful care given to her over the past years.

A funeral service will be held privately. Burial will be private at North Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942; or to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
