Charlton - Ruth Elizabeth (Hultgren) Nordstrom, 91, of Charlton, died in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in North Brookfield. She was 91 years old.

Ruth leaves behind her devoted daughter Carol, wife of William Morrissey of Charlton. She also leaves behind her brother, Kenneth Hultgren, and his wife Ellie of Buzzards Bay. Ruth leaves behind her granddaughter Kristin Morrissey and wife Jessica Wilke of West Boylston, as well as their son Jordan, her great-grandchild, who was the apple of her eye.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Hilding Nordstrom, her son David, and her grandson Matthew Morrissey. Her siblings Grace, Gladys, David and Charles also preceded her in death.

Ruth was born in Worcester on February 18, 1927 to Herman and Victoria (Bergstrand) Hultgren. She was the oldest of six children and graduated from Commerce High School. She then went on to earn her nursing credentials (LPN) from David Hale Fanning Trade. She worked for a number of years at Fairlawn Hospital and the Lutheran Home.

Ruth had many interests and particularly enjoyed reading, quilting and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and always greeted them with a warm smile and good conversation. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Overlook Hospice Services of Charlton and the Quaboag facility where she spent her last weeks. The compassionate care received was a gift during this challenging time.
