Stephen P. Tangney, 59

Sun City Center, FL - Stephen P. Tangney, 59 of Sun City Center, FL, passed away suddenly on Sunday July 8th after being briefly hospitalized. He is survived by his Wife, Sandy Tangney; Mother, Mary Tangney (Salvatore) of Worcester; Daughter, Jennifer Kibbe (Tangney) of Chelmsford; Son, Stephen C. Tangney of Worcester, as well as Brothers Michael Tangney and Wife Cindy of Seattle, WA; Brian Tangney and Wife Anne of Holden and John Tangney and Wife Liza of Worcester. He also leaves behind Grandaughter Giuliana Kibbe of Chelmsford, Nieces Grace and Olivia and Nephew James. Stepsons Brian and Marc Amaral, and three Step-Grandchildren Faith, Salvador and Haley. He is preceded by his Father Eugene E Tangney and Nephew Brian Tangney Jr.

Stephen was born in Worcester and was a graduate of Doherty Memorial High School. As a youth he enjoyed time spent with his brothers and friends fishing and working on cars. He later became a heavy equipment operator and 39 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Stephen was a loving father to his two children who he enjoyed watching grow up. He was a loving husband to his wife with whom he enjoyed more recent years with in the Florida sun. He will be missed for his smile, ridiculous jokes and his infectious laugh.

A Memorial Mass is Tuesday, July 17th at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
