Sue Miville Obituary
Suzanne Miville

Auburn - Suzanne Miville, "Miss Sue", beloved music teacher, pianist, and theater director, passed away on June 11, 2018 at Rose Monahan Hospice home after a brief illness. She was surrounded by dear friends 24 hours a day through the end.

Sue was predeceased by her mother Grace Monique (Tasse) Miville, and her father Paul J. Miville Sr. She leaves behind three brothers, Paul J. MiVille, Jr. of Auburn, R. Thomas Miville and wife Melinda, of Oxford, Daniel R. Miville and his wife, Debra of Worcester; her sister, Peggy St. Armand of East Brookfield; her nieces and nephews Samantha (Miville) Wysong, Timothy, Joseph, Matthew, Emily, and Kirsten Miville; and her faithful cats Molly and Grace.

Sue attended Holy Name Central Catholic High School, Lowell State College, and Worcester State College where she received her BA in English. While working at Girls Incorporated as a piano teacher, Sue founded the children's theater group Peter Pan Players and directed hundreds of musicals with elementary through high school students between 1975 and 2001. Sue taught at St. Mary's for eight years, and recently retired from The Worcester Public Schools, where she taught for 18 years. She ran summer theater programs at Holy Name and St. Peter Marian, and a family theater program at Camp Kinneywood. Sue also performed in pit orchestras for theater companies throughout Massachusetts.

Sue was well known for her bright spirit, infinite wit, ferocious sense of humor, exceptional musicianship, inspiring lesson plans, and generous heart. Wherever she went, she created a safe space for people to express themselves. Sue was an extraordinary pianist, singer, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, avid quilter, photographer, and gifted artist. She will always be remembered by the countless students and friends whose lives she enriched.
