WORCESTER - Mary Ann McGinn of Worcester, died Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the UMass-Memorial Medical Center.

Mary leaves a brother Edward J. McGinn Sr. and his wife Patricia of Worcester; a nephew Michael McGinn, Catherine Harry, and many other nieces and nephews.

Mary's siblings, Thomas J. McGinn Jr., Elinor B. McGinn, and John E. McGinn, predeceased her.

Mary was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas J. and Ellen T. (Doherty) McGinn. She lived on Vernon Hill all her life. She was a graduate of the former Ascension High School.

Mary was a telephone operator for 20 years at the H.E. Shaw Co. in downtown Worcester. Later, she was a telephone operator at the Worcester Public Library for 17 years before retiring.

Mary was a lifelong devoted member of St. John's Church. She traveled extensively with her sister Elinor.

Calling hours are Sunday, January 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Monday, January 11, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
