Jeanne Parzyk, 99

Worcester - Jeanne (Mathieu) Parzyk, age 99, of Worcester, passed away November 1, 2016 in the Christopher House, Worcester, Massachusetts.

Her husband of 59 years, Francis S. Parzyk, died in 2000. She was also predeceased by a brother, Roy Mathieu.

She leaves five daughters: Jeanne Vessard of White Rock, New Mexico, Dr. Dorothy Hall of Cornelius, North Carolina, Katherine Costello of Cottonwood, Arizona, Frances Gingras of Northbridge, Massachusetts, and Christine Murphy of Rancho Mirage, California. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Christian Anderson, Michelle Hall, Suzanne Hunnicutt, Matthew Gingras, Dr. Karen Gingras, Kristen Green, and JoZanne Murphy and five great grandsons: Cooper and Grant Hunnicutt, Alexander Green, and Nathan and Andrew Gingras, and nieces and nephews.

She was born in New Bedford, daughter of Rock P. and Marie (LaPierre) Mathieu and lived in Southbridge before moving to Worcester after marriage.

She was a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College.

Mrs. Parzyk was a customer service representative for the former Worcester County National Bank for 18 years until she retired in 1980. After her retirement, she then worked in the safe deposit department at the Commerce Bank in Worcester.

She enjoyed traveling around the world. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church.

The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
