William J. Sullivan Jr.
WORCESTER - William J. Sullivan Jr., 74, of Worcester, was stricken ill and passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his home.
He leaves his wife Patricia A. (Brote) Sullivan; three sons, Stephen J. Sullivan and his wife Jean of Worcester, David J. Sullivan and his wife Deborah of Oxford, and Kevin J. Sullivan and Samantha Adams of Auburn; a stepdaughter Linda Campaniello and her spouse Fern Lee of Worcester; four grandchildren, Ryan Sullivan, Meghan Sullivan, Nathan Campaniello and Brenda Lee Dix of Worcester, and Nicholas Campaniello and his wife Shannon; a great-granddaughter Luciana Campaniello; a sister Dorothy A. Dunphy and her husband Donald of West Boylston; a sister-in-law Doris Sullivan of East Longmeadow; and nieces and nephews. His brother Robert E. Sullivan predeceased him.
Bill was born in Worcester, son of William J. and Katherine T. (Lowney) Sullivan. He was a graduate of North High School and Worcester Junior College.
Bill was an electrical engineer and worked for Allegro Microsystems in Worcester for 24 years before retiring in 2006. He also served in the Massachusetts National Guard.
Bill was smart, witty and always ready for an argument you knew you would lose. The ever-present twinkle in his eyes showed how much he loved his people.
Bill was incredibly handy. He could fix anything and loved re-purposing, building or tinkering in his basement workshop. He loved fishing, especially for trout, sports, and traveling with friends and family.
Calling hours are Monday, December 19, from 5 to 8 p.m.at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 20 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
