Charles Henry Hickey
WORCESTER - Charles Henry Hickey, 91, of Worcester died at his home on June 21st, following a brief illness. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Bernard F. and Margaret M. (Finn) Hickey and was a resident of Northborough for 50 years. Aside from his parents he is predeceased by a brother, Bernard F. Hickey, Jr. and son-in-law, Stephan J. Brouillard.
"Charlie" is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Jane M. Beringer, a sister, Margaret M. Hickey of Worcester, children, Charles F. of Little Compton, RI, Jane M. Brouillard of Spencer, Maureen M. wife of Peter J. Neilly of Charlton Depot and Bernard G. and wife Christina of Southborough. He is also survived by grandchildren Luke and Tara Brouillard, Meaghan, Devin and Aidan Neilly, and Thea and Olivia Hickey.
He was a graduate of the Sacred Heart School, Providence St. Jr. High and The Abbey School, Simsbury, CT. A veteran of WW II, he enlisted and served with the Navy Air Nats Squadrons VR4 and VR12. Following the war he returned to The Abbey School before joining the former Crompton and Knowles and eventually the Worcester School Department where he worked for many years.
The family expresses its gratitude to the team from Salmon VNA and Hospice for their kindness care and support.
Funeral and burial will be private and arranged by Athy Memorial Home.
