I just heard this terrible and sad news today after returning from vacation. I am heartbroken to have learned Mary's passing. She was always good for a smile and easy conversation. A friendly and familiar face who sincerely cared about her community and its people. Mary reminded me of what the folks in Mayberry had in their happy little post office -- someone with a kind word for every one. She will truly be missed.

I was shocked ans saddened when I learned of Mary's passing. I will always remember her for the way she treated the customers at the post office. We shared many stories and laughs. I miss her there and am sorry she didn't get to enjoy the long retirement she deserved. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Kenny, I worked with Mary at the Rutland Post Office. She was a sweet and gentle person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was loved by her customers and by her fellow workers. I was shocked to hear of her passing. I hope it helps a little to know how much people cared for her and how much she will be missed. So sorry for your loss. Corrine Puliafico

I want to send my deepest regrets on your wife Mary's passing. I never knew Mary but I know she was someone special to you. You will be lonely but you are strong and will get through the sorrow in time. I still think about Sally all the time. Hopefully I will see you some day when I am on the Island visiting Mr. Dink.

Paul and I will miss you Mary. Our mini trips to the cape, leaf peeping and feeding the seagulls on the beach. I will remember your genuine love of nature and animals and always loving each person you met . Making everyone you met feel special. So beautiful inside and out yet so very humble. I can picture you in heaven, with birds flying about and a wreath of flowers on your head. Watch over all of us and sprinkle down your kindness. You will be missed sweet friend. ❤

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mary's family. She was a bright light in the Rutland Post Office. Since there were several Marys each got a name and hers was Mary Sunshine. She was always smiling and so helpful to her customers. Her loyal customers.
