David Zglobicki

David M. Zglobicki, 60

RUTLAND - David M. Zglobicki 60, died on the morning of his 32nd Wedding Anniversary, Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, after a short battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 32 years, Betty (Elizabeth Scovera) Zglobicki, daughter Sara, two sons, Jeremy and Jake, stepdaughter Rachel Retchin of East Longmeadow, his mother Josephine of Three Rivers, sister Lillian Targonski of Monson, brother Louis of West Warren, three grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, and nephews. He was born in Palmer, and was son of the late Louis Zglobicki.

David was raised in Three Rivers, spent twenty years in New Braintree and the last nine years in Rutland, where he was an active lifetime member of the Rutland Sportsman's Club.

David was a union carpenter for over 30 years. After retiring from the union in 2014, he worked at Pleasant View Nursery.

He loved hunting, traveling, camping with his family, fishing, volunteering with special needs athletes, the outdoors, gardening and diving. He was proud to have traveled to all 50 states.

David was a down-to-earth, hardworking, loving man, who always thought of others before himself.

Calling hours are Sunday, October 8, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. A Catholic funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 9, at 11 a.m. in St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will be private at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Bondsville, Mass.
