Doris C. Hunt, 86

WORCESTER - Doris C. Hunt, 86, formerly of Worcester, died Easter Sunday at Beaumont Nursing Center in Northbridge.

She leaves three daughters, Susan M. Hughes, wife of the late Sean E. Hughes of Worcester, Sandra J. Larue wife of Richard Larue of Worcester and Sharon Hunt of Stuart, Fla.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hunt of Calif., and Adam and Joseph Hughes of Worcester, her pride and joy; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Jace; a brother, Paul Hebert of Marshfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband Ray W. Hunt died in 1986. She was also predeceased by a brother Laury Hebert and two sisters, Irene Lavoie and Janet Napierata.

Doris was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Madeleine (Allain) Hebert. She attended Holy Name grammar school and graduated in 1950 from Holy Name High School in Worcester. She was proud to be a "Nap."

She was the transcript coordinator in the registrar's office of the College of the Holy Cross, where she worked more than 30 years before retiring.

Doris loved music, especially that of Frank Sinatra. She enjoyed dancing. She was a devoted fan of New England sports teams, especially the Patriots and Gronk.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Beaumont of Northbridge for their kind and compassionate care of Doris, especially Savannah, Valerie, Julie, Lorraine, Matt, Becky, Kim and Sidney, and the entire hospice team.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 4, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606.
