Mirick G. Perkins, 91

WORCESTER - Mirick G. (Bill) Perkins, 91, of Worcester, died September 8, 2018 at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home after an illness. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Bridget (Bridie) M. (O'Leary) Perkins; a daughter, Kathleen A Bibaud and her husband Charles (Chip) of Oakham, Ma; a son, William F. (Bill) Perkins and his wife Jeanette of St Pete Beach FL; a daughter Mary T. Learned and her husband Scott of Myrtle Beach SC; a sister Dorothy A. Jordan and four grandchildren - Ted W. Learned and his fiancée Maria and son Nathaniel, Melissa Barsy and her husband Evan, Stephanie Knispel and her husband Zach and their sons Cohen and Sage, and Taylor J Bibaud.

Bill was born in Worcester, son of Mirick T. and Josephine E. (O'Brien) Perkins and lived here all his life. Bill's education included Freeland Street School and South High. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Holy Cross College and a Master's degree from Worcester State College. Bill was a US Navy veteran, Yeoman 3, of World War II.

Bill cherishes his life-long friendships with Mike and Karen Essex, and Bob Williams and their families. Bill was a controller and treasurer of Rice Barton Corporation, retiring as Vice President in 1997 after 32 years. Bill was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and of the St. George's Church Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Bill was a member of the YMCA where he enjoyed his "lap" swimming with Bridie. At Holden Hills Country Club, Bill looked forward to the weekend golf matches for years as a wonderful source of competitive enjoyment with a great group of guys.

The funeral will be held on September 22, 2018 with a Mass at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Burial will immediately follow at Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the Mass from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster Street, which is directing arrangements.

In your Masses and prayers, kindly remember the souls of all your faithfully departed family and friends. The family would like to thank Donna and Miles Abkowitz, and his neighbor and angel, Susan LePage, for her continued friendship and care. We'd also like to thank Notre Dame hospice. Especially nurse Kate, Sister Marybeth, Nancy and Alison.
