Sturbridge - Jay Patrick McGlone, 64, passed away on Friday, June 30th, in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, after a long illness.

He leaves his son, Jay McGlone, Jr. of Union, CT; his daughter, Tracy A. Grady and her husband Timothy of Grafton and their children and his grandchildren, Cael Patrick Grady and Mya Rose Grady; his mother, Kathleen (Young) McGlone Barretto and her husband Gene Barretto of Nashua, NH; his two brothers, Mike McGlone and his wife Elsa Rivera of Woodstock, CT and Terry McGlone and his wife Lisa of Framingham; his two sisters, Judi Teller and her husband David of Ashland and Marianne McGlone of Brooklyn, CT; and many nieces and nephews which he loved and adored. He was born in Lowell, MA the son of the late Jay W. McGlone. Patrick received his MBA from Assumption College in Worcester in August of 2007 and he proudly became a CPA.

Patrick had a ferocious entrepreneurial spirit which started in 1973 when he and his brother Mike opened Pat and Mike's Radiator in Southbridge. He later owned and operated Southbridge Overhead Door and Raynor Overhead Door in Worcester for over 40 years. In his free time he owned and managed over 50 apartments. Patrick loved to have fun, was always game for an adventure, wasn't afraid to work hard and definitely knew how to play hard. His ambitious spirit was contagious. He loved life. He loved to be on his boat, on the ocean and fishing. He never stopped moving but no matter how busy–Patrick always had time for family and friends. At his young age, he was an active member of the Southbridge Lions for 28 years and a Privileged Member. He was the son, dad, brother, uncle, and friend that you could turn to without hesitation. We are grateful for some pretty fabulous memories of Patrick's adventures that will always make us smile.

His funeral will be held on Friday, July 7th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge. In accordance with Patrick's request, after cremation he will be scattered at sea. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Thursday, July 6th, from 5:00 to 8:00pm.
