From:Tim Randall" This is written with the Utmost Respect for Mr Joel "Taz" DiGregorio and his Family and Friends, as well as His Extended Family, Mr.Charlie Daniels and the Charlie Daniels Band.
I Hate It For Charlie Tonight
I had to relay This Message,
For Everyone to see,
My time on Earth was Done Here,
Please Don't Cry for Me.
As I drove down that road,
Headed to meet The Band,
God reached out of Heaven,
And Grabbed Me by the hand.
He said, "Taz", I Need You up here,
I said, "I'm Headed Down, to Run The Devil out of Georgia Lord",
He said, "There's been a Change in Plans,
Heaven's Waiting with Your New Keyboard".
I'm So Sorry, I left you Waiting
and Wondering if I'd show,
I Know You'll Understand,
That I Just had to go.
We rode a Million Miles or Two,
We were Brothers, Amigos, Friends,
I'm Now in a Perfect Place,
Where The Music NEVER Ends.
What do you say to Someone,
That You've Lived with ALL These Years,
Only You and I Know About,
Our Long Talks, Laughter and Tears.
We Didn't get to say Good-Bye,
I Know that Don't seem Right,
Though I'm SO Glad to be Here,
I Hate It For Charlie Tonight.
I Prayed that God would Help Me to write these words and He did.
I Truly Hope that these few words bring at least a Little Comfort.
A Huge Fan of Taz and The Charlie Daniels Band.
Sincerly,
Tim Randall

To all of Taz's family and friends...my prayers are with you during this difficult time of loss. I didn't know Taz well but met him a couple of times and enjoyed his friendliness and warmth. We shared a bit in common as we were both from Massachusetts, both currently lived in Tennessee, and both played keyboards. He will be missed greatly by all.

My deepest sympathy to Taz's family and friends. I grew up listening to the CDB and always admired his piano and organ work as well as vocals. Very sad to hear this. Let the music live on he was certainly essential to all of that music. The music will live on along with the memory of this fine man.

I had very little direct contact with Taz, but I was officed in the same building with the CDB management when the band was still in a bus whose color in back was obliterated by the smoke from the exhaust. I was at Volunteer Jam One, visited a recording rehearsal, and have seen the CDB many times; I simply can't imagine Taz not being part of that wonderful exhillarating mix that is their music. My prayers and thoughts are with all who share the loss.

What a tremendous loss. As a fan of the CDB - I never met "Taz" but always admired his musicianship and massive talent. I had no idea that we were basically neighbors. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, and the CDB family at this time.
