Maxine Walker

Springfield, TN - Maxine Lee Walker, age 92, passed into her eternal home with her Lord and Savior on April 5, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Maxine was born on November 21, 1928 to the late Edward and Minnie Browning Lee in Cedar Hill, TN. She was preceded in death by her only brother, Harold Lee of Kingston Springs, TN.

Maxine and her husband of 74 years, Charles Raymond "Charlie" Walker were blessed with three children; Daryle (Wanda) Walker of Springfield, Linda (Hoyte) Owen of Murfreesboro and Bonnie (Jim) Drew of Springfield, IL , 9 grandchildren; Todd (Julie) Walker of Clarksville, Adam (Kim) Walker, of Cottontown, Megan (Nico) Gregali of Thompson Station, Will (Jaymie) Owen of Murfreesboro, Jake (Kristi) Owen of Mufreesboro, Chris (Kristen) Drew of San Carlos, CA, Kelley (Dustin) Henry of Springfield, IL, Kassie (Steve) Redmond of Kansas City, MO, and Jimmy (Suz) Drew of Oviedo, FL. Her legacy will be extended for generations to come through her 19 (soon to be 20) great-grandchildren, of whom she was most proud.

Though Maxine was employed by Acme Boot Company for 28 years, it can be said that she worked literally all of her life from childhood to as recently as two weeks ago! Gardening, food preparation and ministering to her family and friends through food were both her gifts and her passion. Serving her Lord through her church, supporting Charlie, and loving, feeding, and "cheering on" her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her priorities.

The family is grateful for the dedicated care provided by Caregiver Linda Woodson.

Public graveside services, open to all family and friends, will be held at 2pm, April 8, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Chris Warren and Reverend Kim Moore officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Mt. Sharon C.P. Church, Greenbrier, TN. Austin and Bell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
